In the first part of his song, he's using both the square wave channels to play the main theme. In square channel 1, he has the main theme blasting at max volume (with the instrument's volume sliding from 4 to 15 at a very fast rate).
In square channel 2, he has the same tune & instrument (with the volume slide,) except that the overall volume is much lower & the notes themselves are offset by 7 rows from those of square channel 1).
And to add to the effect, he uses a pitch-bending effect inside his instrument.
To control different parameters for individual instruments, of course, you simply need to double-click the instrument's icon in the upper-right part of the tracker's window (the rectangular area with the black background). In there, you can control volume, duty cycle values, pitch bends, arpeggios & add DPCM samples (if that instrument will be used to play samples in the DPCM channel).
