I really need help on opening FamiTracker. Chances are, I can't open it because of Microsoft Visual Studio, but I don't see how I would use it. PERIOD. Please tell me how to open it and point to a good tracker tutorial.
Yes, I do usually double-string topics together. Takes less time, and a good skill to know if you have 2 related problems.
I second that. When you download the zip file, extract it into any folder on your computer. Then, double-click the file named famitracker.exe.
You don't need anything like Visual Studio to run any program on your computer (Visual Studio is only a set of tools to create your own programs & edit other people's programming projects).
Anyways, you can visit this site's wiki for tutorials on using the tracker:
Ummmm...... I kinda got a Visual C++ project on my download.
But, I JUST got the proper download. I have no idea how but I'm going to lock this thread. Somehow. Even if it is not I who lock it.
Actually, both of the 2 packages contained Visual C files and Visual C files only. I downloaded it from a source I forget.....
I do know, though that file switch hackers are everywhere. FamiTracker makes it 4 attacks this year pointed at me. *tsktsktsk*
Can you list any Visual Studio files in the binary package? Because all I see is the help file (*.chm,) the readme file (*.txt) & the executable (or binary) file (*.exe).
I'm not sure if Visual Studio allows you to edit *.chm (or compiled help manual) files (& it probably does,) but I can tell you that they're not strictly Visual Studio files. As a matter of fact, *.chm files are HTML files (i.e.: web pages) that are compiled into a self-contained, offline web browser (which also explains why this format can also be used for eBooks).

Technology: the one thing that's hated & cursed at by all engineers, technologists, scientists & technicians!
It's either someone replaced my download there, or someone seperated it into multiple Visual studio files and and placed it in my download opening while I was choosing wether to open or save the ZIP.
