I know jsr is hard at work putting expansion chip support into Famitracker - but could you give us some insider info into which expansion chips will be supported?

I am weak in the knees anticipating this!

If everything goes according to plan, all of them are going to be implemented.

And, yes, me too! I'm very much looking forward to VRC6 support.

VRC6 emulation is ready and the channels are added to the tracker window and it works, but the instrument editor is still incomplete.

The biggest thing right now is to support it from the NSF code.

There are probably tons of us here who would even love to just take it for a test drive within famitracker, even if they couldn't immediately save them in the NSF format. Looking forward to it, though... the user interface of FT is already better than.. well... every other NES music creator out there that i'm aware of... So getting expansion support (especially if we eventually get full support) will do more than put FT on the map, but probably reserve a whole planet for one.

I know this stuff is tough, but it looks like all the effort is really going to be worth it.

So according to http://nesdevwiki.ath.cx/wiki/index.php/VRC6_Audio - this means we get 2 more pulse waves and 1 sawtooth channel. sweet!

Yep, and as far as I know, the pulse waves have more duty cycles, so you can get more than three different timbres... it's more like six or seven I think?
