Excellent soundtrack. I've been listening to the tunes for about a half hour.
Interesting that last track #47, "Hertz New". Always did love Gyruss. Although I played the arcade and Commodore 64 versions, and not very much of the nes one.
While I was messing with soundtrack a bit, I noticed that changing tempo in Wily Stage 2 (#26) can make the feel better.
In frame 0, I put F07 in DPCM at row 00, and then an F06 at row 18. Reminds me of when Mega Man is about to warp in, there is about 3 seconds of "ready" followed by Mega Man warping into the level, and putting in these adjustments makes frame 0 about 3.5 seconds long. This means than when Mega Man is in the level, the main part of the track begins.
I had Frames 1-5 alternate between F05 and F06. Sure this makes it a bit slower, but it does feel smoother imo, and even though this kinda goes against the "Wily Stage music is frantic", I still want it to have that fleeting bit of slow and calm "victory" in it.
Frames 6-8 stayed as they they were, with an F05 at row 00, which is the normal tempo of the stage. I just love that part, so I didn't mess with it.
I made Frame 9 have the exact same tempo change as in Frame 0. The note fall being slower sounds nice to me and then the F06 at 18 gives the drum portion a bit of a returning to speed.
I feel these changes actually turns the track into a story of sorts, as Mega Man could be having some flashback moments of previous Wily Stages while moving through the castle, shown by the slower tempo accompanying the hectic notes of traditional Wily Stages, culminating into a return to the present in frame 6 with the tempo increasing. Sounds like a Time Tangent-like idea if you ask me.
But I doubt that Mex will read this and think it is a good idea.
way too slow, the ritardando makes no sense in a megaman stage theme, all other edits are not noticeable in this song. it's a wily stage, not a story filled cutscene.
im going to continue making this crazy stuff then after a while my style will be so sick that you will be like damn suuun that shit is so sick i dont even get it. i will be like bro its ok.. you dont have to.
Also, that's two composers "yes", one composer "no"
how much leverage do i get since i made the song
regardless, i'm alright with the idea but i think it would be better executed if a song were built ground-up specifically for this sort of thing. or maybe i've heard the song too many times and i'm used to the tempo being consistent. more extraneous details etc etc
