72 frames for Endless Mode? Holy crap. One small thing, on Wily Stage 1 in frames 0B and 0C, row 08 should go to G-3 on Square 1 if my ears don't deceive me. Other than that the additions sound fantastic.

Yeah actually, Frames OA and OB were wrong notes. Thanks for noticing that. I thought there was something wrong there. Ugh. I'm slipping. Maybe I should have practiced more before doing this NSF :P

Thanks man.

Something I also noticed with Wily Stage 1. There's one part of the song that was kind of hard to decipher when I did my cover, and even though I'm not entirely sure I got it, it's a bit off in yours as well.

In Frame 6 for the triangle channel, the C-4 should go 'till Row 04 with a tom, and then another C-4 at 06 and at 0A, then the tom at 0C, since the ascension doesn't start until about row 18. Everything else should be fine after that.

I mean, that's really nitpicky on my part, but it caught my ear when I was listening so I thought I'd point it out.

Really impressive with the amount of work done so far. Looking forward to more.

Hmm I'll take a look and fix accordingly.

In the mean time, here's Special Stage 1's NSF.

A lot of the harmony square channel was improvised in this version because it was extremely difficult to hear it. Hope it sounds good to everyone.

EDIT: Fixed. Also fixed the other notes like that. Won't update the FTM here until the next time I complete about 4 or 5 songs. Next song on the list is Chill man.

Loving the Wily 1 cover, one small problem though. On bars OB and OC, row 08 on Square 1 should be G-3, not F-3.

Mex, look up to Triflake's post, already addressed and fixed. :D Thanks though!

After Chill Man I think I'm gonna work on the rest of the boss themes, then shift focus on the wily themes/special themes. The ending / credit roll will be saved for last. (Those are ones I'm honestly dreading, they'll take the most time)

You know, after listening to the themes and the other music MM10 has really grown on me. I still really don't like the feel of the music as a MM game but as far as music in general goes I don't hate it or anything. The only song that I have not taken to at all is Strike Man's theme. Everything else though I find myself warming up to. I'd be interested to see Blade Man's theme in fami. Thanks tssf.

I'm doing Chill man's theme right now. I just want to say, this song won't be too accurate.

I can judge from the musical style and the way the bass line is that the Mega Man 8 composer did the music for this level. I can also say that he/she was not comfortable writing in an 8-bit style. This song is doing things that the original 2A03 could not do. Ultra-fine vibratos, and 2 (yes, 2..) noise channels specifically. Listen to the hihats playing while the kick/snare play. Yeah. Not supposed to do that. I'll approximate as best I can, but know that this song will not be 100% accurate.

OK Here are some guesses.. and songs I like and/or that have grown on me.

songs i've liked since i first heard them:

1) Proto Man shop - I'm guessing bunbun, as some others have said. It sounds like darkwing duck.

2) Commando Man: No idea, probably a newer composer.

3) Solar Man: Grungy bass makes me think one of the earlier games' composers, likely Mega Man 2, but I don't know.

4) special stage 2: I'm gonna guess and say the original composer did this one, but I like the song in general.

Songs that have grown on me:

1) Wily Castle 2: Sassy intro aside, this sounds like a lot like music from Mega Man 5's wily stages. It's even stuck in my head a few times.

2) Sheep Man: Hate the intro still, but the rest of the song is quite nice and after a few listens it grows on you. Gonna guess Mega Man 5's composer with this one, as the basslines kind of give this away a little, plus it sounds like some Mega Man 5 level musics (think charge man meets gyro man?)

tssf i agree with the chill man bass analysis.

edit:

Boss Battle sounds like the Mega Man 7 boss battle a bit... with the "oh noes" intro part, then a kind of ... un-bosslike song following, plus the bass is a great indicator. I really hate this song as a boss battle song, the intro isn't very driving and neither is the song... it pretty much exacerbates the problems I had with the Mega Man 9 boss song, which at least sounded like it was "challenging," this one just just sounds like weird level music.

Wily stage 4 sounds like Wily Stages 3-4 from Mega Man 2, so I guess you could say that it's probable that the MM2 composer worked on it.

Blade man sounds like something from one of the non-NES games, especially Mega Man 8 with its odd chord based stuff that doesn't sound right on two channels.

Nitro man is definitely mega man 7 especially after hearing that...

edit2:

pump man = mega man 4 sounding, in my opinion. bassline doesn't sit still, a lot of chords are thirds instead of IV/V chords, etc.

Whoa! This is coming along great!
I was hoping to see you work on this, tssf.
I have to commend your talent for being able to pick out the problems with the 8-bit simulations.
Cheers and good luck with the rest of this! ^_^

Thank you. I've completed a bit more music. I think there's only 8 - 10 songs left to complete now. (Thank God)

Check first post for newest songs.

Neat. I see that with the Chill Man, the square is accomplished using an effect in addition... I don't think that effect exists in the engine I use for games though...
