also, Jayster, am I detecting a little bit in common with your "Ice Mines" song?
Check Doxic's post on the first page. Ya, there are some similarities, but it's all in the same game, right, so everything needs to be kind of cohesive. Still, I didn't consciously make those similarities, it just sort of happened. I think that the differences are substantial enough. Again, thanks for all the comments guys!
Can I ask something? What will the game be about? This music is awesome but I don't really see it in a game without having an idea of what it is going to be.
Eh, to be honest, I don't know about the game too much myself and my biggest worry is that the music won't fit the game. I have a couple screencaps and some text to go off of and that's it really. I'm really just trying to write good music and hope it fits. If not, well, at least I'll have a full soundtrack up, and that's kind of my biggest focus right now.
It would be bad if the music didn't fit the game. But well, I hope it fits, so it has an awesome soundtrack to go along with the gameplay.
Ryudo, the stereo mix is good, but I think it could be a lot better. Some things sound really better though, and it gives a surrounding feeling at times.
my only complaint about this song is that it's not bad enough. it needs more bad chords and notes so i can listen to it and think i might actually win the next originals democompo

Thanks! I have a bunch of sections of which I think it could sound better. Let me know which sections in particular could improve, I'll try to analyze how I could do this and improve for the next one!
The points of concern for me are:
0:20 - Tried to make a left/right effect that would match the one at 0:13-0:15 but it might not stand out too much.
0:27 - The 'sparkle' sound (at a loss of better wording) goes from left to right, so I wanted this effect to start right, then left and end right again. At hindsight maybe I overdid this and should maybe have sticked to one side.
0:38-1:02: Probably too much left and right here and too little coming from the middle. (Talking about the main melody here, the sparkly sounds turned out alright I think)
1:02-1:04: Should maybe have emphasized this a bit more.
1:10-1:27: Same as the 0:38-1:02 part.
1:38-1:44: Maybe too little center here too.
Overall I find it quite difficult to make a good choice. After some time you listened to it so much that you can't really judge the balance anymore.
I enjoy trying things like this though. I hope I'll improve at it. I'm also eager to see how your album version turns out Jayster!
I know it's difficult since mixing all the channels in a way they sound more like surrounding the listener is a hard task. Just practice some more and you'll discover lots of new effects!
I swear you came out of nowhere with this stuff, at least I subbed to you after hearing your Space Cuba cover thinking it was pretty neat, but your originals have been amazing. Please don't stop making awesome stuff.
