Oh boy, results are finally out, and I'm actually pretty happy with my 53rd and 65th places!
Lesse... Purification, I had actually started a pretty long time ago. If the Date Created tag on it is actually accurate, then it'd be September 24th, 2013 that I started it. Got maybe... Halfway through? Then for whatever reason stopped. And it just hung there. Mostly because the source I had been using for the drums up and poofed, and I didn't feel like doing it again. Until I did. Then it took less than a day to finish. Neato!
Overcoming Difficulties... Well, that was just another in the list of songs I had been doing for my Tales of Battles thing that I've been slowly chipping away at since just about forever. A while back I switched it all from VRC6 to N163, so that helped, even though this song didn't really require the extra channel that provided. Some of the others made better use of it. Speaking of Tales of Battle... I should make a new thread for that someday...
Lots of great entries!
I'll be honest, I forgot to vote for this. I feel bad
Anyways, this was the first famicompo I've entered and I'm happy with my results! Thanks to all who commented/voted.
Overall they placed about in the order I thought they would. Funny my only video game cover placed the highest haha.

Your N163 instrument choices are really great. N163 instrument choice = my weak spot...
Frankly, I was rather surprised that my Hanayamata cover got 10th(placing even higher than that I-Fuu-Dou-Dou cover).
Really happy how I placed in this year's compo and it's the best result I've had in the three compos I've entered. Hopefully I'll do even better next year!
1st place in Freestyle section!
(Unfortunately, I couldn't post this one in original's section because multi expanstion chips are not supported by Famitracker's export driver.
Because of that I couldn't export it to NSF.
N163 and FDS are two seperate expansion chips, but ya know already about it.)
Still though, I wish that I could export it to NSF and post it to original section. But it was not possible.
(And it IS still not possible, even with 0CC newest bulid.)
About running this FTM:
It is possible to run this FTM in FamiTracker 0.4.5 but there might be a problem with instruments in it. Also hiss. Freaking hiss.
I recommend to run it in FamiTracker 0.4.2, NoHissFamitracker or newest 0CCFamiTracker bulid (to turn off hiss, press Left Shift + Left Ctrl + M together).
[Yes, jsr, 0CCFamiTracker. Quit this bullcrap about it already.]
W7n_mariohacker, what do you mean by instrument choice? most of the instrument come from novakhord's cover of the same song (if you want the nsf look in the attachment).
My only true personals are the pipe organ and the male voice - I'm happy with how the organ turned out. Other instrument have added waveforms, for better attack (vibe, bass, guitar). The other are untouched (reed, female voice, bell).
Sample are from various sources (timpani belongs to HertzDevil, the breath is from novakhord).
Personnaly, I'm more happy with the abuse of polyphony to simulate echo whenever it was possible.
