Question for the veterans; where do you get your DPCM samples and how do you make them not sound like crap?

Would make a cool background theme, like for a castlevania game. Not too complex or fancy, but still fun.

Thanks. I envisioned it as a theme to some gloomy town in an RPG where the townsfolk are living in fear of a cult of necromancers.
