It'd be cool if I could hear this instead of the deafening whine.

Change the number of Namco channels from 8 to 6. Problem solved. The 7th and 8th channels aren't even used, so why are they enabled? Anyway, this is pretty good.

No there isn't.

And I don't see why it'd be better to get another version of FT just for your FTM. No one else uses 0.3.8 beta and FTMs created in 0.4.4 will not open in it. It'd just make it another hassle.

i use 3.8 beta exactly for this reason - no noise. listen to this in whatever version you want, using 3.8 beta was a suggestion to use as it was made in that specific version. no need for whining about it.
Besides, if i can use 4 different versions (0.3.5, 0.3.7, 0.3.8 beta, 0.4.2) of famitracker at a time, so can you.

Incredibly shallow. Not everyone is going to download multiple versions just to open your specific FTM.

The only thing you'd have to do is correct it for use in 0.4.4 so everyone can open it, which would be much less of an inconvenience than having everyone else download an outdated version.

You know, we have modded versions of FamiTracker for a reason. Or you could go with my suggestion above.

Are we going to stay here and dog out the fact that the version of Famitracker used isn't up to date, or, for those that CAN open it, could we actually talk about the song? Fallout: New Vegas - Dead Money taught this lesson: Getting in isn't the hard part...it's letting go.

Thought the song was somewhat repetitive, yet catchy. Loved the feel and wasn't bothered at all by the noise everybody else complains about. Thought this was good work.

There. Is that so hard? I used Ubertracker. More reason for me to stick with it.

Exactly. This is a perfect example of why I removed the option to disable namco noise.

You also just could switch the Sound frequency from 44100 to 22050 or lower to avoid that hissing.

The source module that this came from has multiple songs, half of which are using the full channel range. (for some reason i didnt think it'd be a problem though when i was creating the separate ftm)
Suggestion: make noise enabling/disabling .ftm-based so that if someone (me) decides to disable the noise, they can without the recipient having to make option-based modifications which create massive outrages like this (not the only reason for it though).

Thanks, and the reason that the channel count is maximum is that the source module that this came from has multiple songs, half of which are using the full channel range. (for some reason i didnt think it'd be a problem though when i was creating the separate ftm)

you misunderstood me, i have multiple versions open if i want to take something from an old scrap of mine and remake it into a never version of itself in a module that isnt a feature in the older famitracker. my module DOES NOT require you to have all these specific versions open. There isnt a module option that would do that.

im not, and anyone who further brings up the aural forward-incomptatability will be talking to a wall.

No thanks.

=====================================================================

Just to appease those who bitch (IaTM, Threxx) about the 3.8 namco noise-thing/version-specific-module-thing - a vrc7 version just for you! playable at any wooden pc with famitracker 3.8 and up. (updated main post too)
