Why is Megaman 1 so underrated? Sure, it was the first of it's kind and sold like smelly socks in a parfume sture, but I personally rank it as one of the best games for it's grand innovation alone.
Also, it has some of my favourite and most memorable musical pieces across the series. The primitive, yet frantic track that belongs to the yellow devil, the classic (somewhat "Spanish" ) Cutman theme or ... well, about everything else. There really wasn't a single miss for me.
One of the best pieces was the first Wily Fortress track. It sounded more melodramatic than later pieces and it felt more like you're really approaching the thread that is the cause of all evil that's happening right now.
So, I decided using the VRC7 this time around since the more calm tones of this chip fit rather well ... although I don't like this chip alltogether all that much.
Still, after some experimenting, it came out fine - I think.
