Ok but then I'll postpone this at the moment and consider adding a new option later, the next release will contain bug fixes only. A workaround so far is to turn off pattern preview, as that will display all patterns in full length.

Wow, then what I was looking for is really already an option! I didn't realize you could turn off the next/previous preview, or that Dxx hiding was predicated on it.
