It's just something I've come to be good at. I probably wouldn't be making chiptunes had I never discovered his work, as he is one of my biggest influences.
Making dubstep is something I've had on my mind for a while but haven't gotten around to it, mainly since I have been studying for finals and I have some unfinished songs. Instead of finishing those songs, however, I have decided to shove them aside and I'm happy to announce I have a dubstep tune in the works. (Believe it or not, it's going to be my first attempt at dubstep, and it's going to be a cover of a notorious song from a notorious game by a notorious company :P. I might post a WIP of it at a later date.) Luckily, Summer break is just around the corner so I'll have more time to work on it.

Well, who doesn't like Tim Follin? But yeah, I was more or less joking about the dubstep thing, but if that's what you wanna do then go for it! If you don't care about custom speeds, I highly recommend you to try using VRC7 for the wubs

I pressed ENTER, realised what was going on in Frame 00, and simply played that for about thirty seconds whilst I understood why instruments 01 and 02 were called "DAT BASS" and "DAT BASS 2", respectively.
As a great lover of both Tim Follin and the character of Vinyl Scratch, I must say that I am very impressed with this original composition. I can hear elements of the High-Score Theme from Silver Surfer (NES), which is always a good thing. Keep up the good work.
As for dubstep, there are a number of options: overclocked duty cycle envelopes; VRC7 custom patches (probably the least appealing); N163 waves. LSDj also offers different functions to make decent wubs, but that might be a little "far out", so to speak.

Thank you very much! This might be the last of Folliny sort of stuff you'll hear from me for a while though (I will probably make a return with it in the future), because I've decided I want to try different things and I think I will find a good start in that by trying to make dubstep. But hey, since Tim Follin has left such a huge impact on me, don't be surprised to find that sort of stuff in any of my newer work. About the dubstep, I had already started it on N163, so I'm hoping I can get it to sound good. It's only going to use 4 N163 channels so that leaves hissing out of the question. I've used LSDj a few times before and I've heard some of the 'wubs' it's capable of making.

It's from an NES game which came out in the early 90's. That's as far as I'm going to go, but I may reveal more later.
