Awesome! :D

I'll record this when I get back in Montreal Sunday.

Just a reminder:
In January, MovieMovies1 wrote:
I would like to have these 12 tunes recorded. I included timecodes for each tune.

I hope this isn't too much for you to handle.

Ah, yeah, I remember taking a look at this and thinking this was more than I could handle at the time the request was made. Then I moved to Montreal and completely forgot about it.

I'll get to it some time this week, definitely!

Alright, time for an update!

I had to make some changes to Cosmos by RushJet1: using volume 0 on the VRC7 is not the same as muting (you can hear a very very quiet note), and changing patches while a 3xx effect is active does not work in the exported NSF (i.e. it plays the previous patch) unless you introduce a note cut or Sxx effect.

moviemovies1, I'm sorry I didn't tackle your huge NSF pack yet, but it was too much for me to handle at such a late time (in addition to all the rest of these). :(

I hope my two recordings of your OHC are enough to hold you over! I'll be away from home tomorrow through Sunday; I might do your pack then (or some time during next week).

wow shit thank you very much for that unexpected render!!!!!!
(gotta say it sounds pretty cool on the hardware - chords are much better and weirdly enough - hiss is a great addition here...)

Tiny update to hold you over until the next big one:

The next update should be pretty interesting, so keep an eye out for that! :D

Hey man! I usually don't want to bother you with my pointless request because by the looks of things, you already have enough most of the time. This is an exception however! I really need to know what these sound like on a console, (especially once I implement them into the megaman hack)

NSF

If you don't have much time, I'd be happy just with the first two tracks (Crazy forest, Long-lost Egypt)

Thank you!

I would really appreciate if you could record my cover of Der Zoo from Ottifanten. That would be sweet!
I know you said that 4 is the max volume, but I'm curious if 5 would sound better in this case (since I used 12 this time), if it doesn't then 4 will do just fine.

Hey all, just thought I'd write a short post on why I haven't updated in nearly a month.

Those of you who follow me on Twitter probably know that my current setup is very impractical in terms of physical space. That, combined with the fact my main computer does not allow me to record from line-in (forcing me to swap out my new laptop with my old one, which is very annoying), means I have to gather a bunch of files to record, do them all in one go, and then put the whole thing away. Not very pleasant.

However, those of you who follow me on Facebook (and the two are not mutually exclusive - I'm not particularly hard to get a hold of) know that I am moving into a new apartment on April 30th. That place will allow for more possibilities in terms of setting myself up, and I'll most likely be able to make it so I have my Famicom permanently plugged into my old laptop. That means I can use that machine whenever I feel like recording stuff, while still having my new computer up and running.

I will still have a school semester to finish after I move, but some time around May 20th, I'll be able to go back to recording stuff full time. That (hopefully) means more regular updates of this thread. Possibly even a new contest installment, but we'll see about that~

So the bottom line is this: the whole h/w render operation is on hiatus for a couple more weeks, but hang tight! I'll get back to it as soon as possible.

Thank you for your patience!

No problem, I really appreciate for the hard work you put into this and you're awesome for doing this.

Btw, I have a LOT of new songs coming, if you're interested to record these

I'd happily do these (and the rest once I have more time), but you didn't provide any loop times! Remember, it's not my job to guess how long your tunes last.

I'm in the process of recording all the other requested tracks, plus some of my own stuff, and some extra tunes too. Stay tuned!

Yeah, sure and thanks in advance! The rest of them I'll get tomorrow, along with a new, better organized ftm.
Crazy Forest - 1:48
Long-lost Egypt - 1:59

Okay! So after a relatively long wait, I'm finally done with my huge update! I think it's safe to say this is the most recordings I've made in a single sitting ever since I got my TNS-HFC3.

Without further ado, here is the list! There were lots of VRC6 tunes this time around.
*I had to change the refresh rate back to 60 Hz prior to exporting and recording these two, because the TNS-HFC3 can only play NSFs at 60.09 Hz.
**I changed the N163 channel's main volume to 7 in the volume column prior to exporting in order to optimise the overall mixing.

But wait, there's more! We conclude with...

Virtually every track Javel ever finished.

That's right. I don't know why it took me so long to record anything by Javel, but now practically everything he ever put out has a hardware render. I skipped on WIPs and a few (in my opinion) subpar tunes, though. But hey, if you really wanna hear those on hardware, just ask.

I hope this satisfies your craving for hardware faithfulness for the next couple weeks, because I'm going to be pretty busy with the end of the semester coming up! I'll try to take requests though. In the meantime, enjoy these recordings! I sure enjoyed listening to all this great Famicom music as I recorded it. :D
