As it is, porting FamiTracker to a mobile platform would be a huge undertaking, and I'm not sure how many developers are working on FamiTracker to begin with (other than jsr). As it stands, porting FT to Linux/OS X (a personal dream of mine, once I sit down to figure out MFC) would also require a lot of effort. So yeah, it's possible, but it'd probably be just as much work just making an NES tracker from scratch for Android/iOS.
On a side note: has anyone used a touchscreen-based tracker other than Sunvox? I'd like to see if there are common user interface ideas.

I've tried Nitrotracker on the Nintendo DS (which I no longer have), and it's really nice, but requires some screen/window switching. It does allow you to record samples right from the DS, which is a really neat concept.

MilkyTracker has been ported to Android... but I wouldn't bother with it unless your phone has a physical keyboard (or you don't mind buying a bluetooth keyboard).

A tablet has a much higher resolution than any phone - you might get away with touch controls/virtual keyboard.
Also, something else I tried once - using RDP software to connect to my PC and running FamiTracker remotely. It ALMOST worked; I don't know if my phone was too slow, or the software I was using wasn't optimized for what I was doing, or my connection sucked, or maybe it was a just plain unfeasible idea...
I had to set the audio buffer really high to get it to play right at all, but it did work somewhat. Just a thought.

I'm afraid I simply don't know the major differences; just that you're probably running a modified version of Gingerbread. Are many apps designed for phones not at all compatible with it?
Even so, there are at least a dozen RDP apps floating around out there, I can't imagine there not being a solution compatible with tablets.
