Come now; I'd like to see this because of how it allows you to push the limits of the actual system (& it's not like any PCM channel gives unlimited possibilities).

That's not 4 channels though, that's one 7 bit channel like we've always had, just with a lot of CPU care generating its input.

FME7/B5 has both noise and square.

It does, but the noise is output on the same 3 channels as square.

Okay, I've fixed the MMC5 test NSF to actually be NSF compliant (returns from NMI properly now).
song 1 = read-mode MMC5 PCM (nothing supports this?)
song 2 = write-mode MMC5 PCM (some things support this)
song 3 = 2A03 DMC reference
Source is also included, if somebody feels like messing with it.
