I've had no problems using the standalone NSFPlug in my Windows XP virtual machine (except for the occasional slowdown due to running two Windows instances at once).

Not a Winamp plugin, but I highly recommend VirtuaNSF; it's the way to go if you want emulation that sound as close to the origianl hardware as can be.

OH...

I just listened to how my stuff sounds on VirtuaNSF... and died a little inside. T_T

I never had it crash on XP... but it always crashed on Vista/7 for me. Anyhow, NSFPlug still works fine.

I used to use NSFPlay to render WAVs, but eventually FamiTracker's sound output got aweseome, so I don't bother anymore.

If you want further examples of how VirtuaNSF's mixing is totally different, try comparing one of robokabuto's NSFs in foobar2000 of any other player vs VirtuaNSF. I think you'll easily be able to tell which one it's optimised for. :p

Also I stopped making my MMLs in MMLShare's own window when I found out FlashNSF uses the GME libraries (same as foo_gep). It's good but it lacks some features and expansion levels are wrong. It does support overclocking though.

Speaking of which, I wonder if it's possible to overclock an NSF using ppMCK, via y<#1>,<#2>...
