For the record, I'm not opposed to using hardware sweeps to set the high pitch bits, I'm just saying the cost/complexity might not be worthwhile.

If it works well and jsr wants to do it, that's fine with me.

(And this thread has made me realize how much I want a real NES to play with... off I go to eBay...)
