Compared to other nes music it sounds fine, I guess I am comparing it to other chiptunes and music in general. Its just kinda annoying when your listening to a song and you have to turn the volume way up, and then the next song that comes on is much louder and destroys your ears lol

If you are using a headset plug it in to headphones instead of speakers it'll sound louder... that might be why you thought it was quiet. If that's not it, allow clipping and take it up just past where you start to need to allow clipping, not too far though.
