Play all channels when editing? Posted: 2010-09-19 21:14 Reply(Locked)

I was trying another tracker the other day (Vortex Tracker II) and it had a cool feature in that it played the whole row, for example in FamiTracker both square, triangle and noise channels would all sound at once when you enter a new note in only one of these channels.

I found it much easier to get a feel for what I was editing in this way as I could instantly hear what the whole row sounded like when it played in unison. Normally in FamiTracker you only get the full effect when you play your song and not when you edit.

Could this feature please be added in a future update, should be quite simple I think and very useful.

Thanks for reading,

Jason.

You know; you could just hit CTRL+ENTER at each line to hear it as you edit. It sure helps to read the Help file included with the program.

Thanks for the reply.

I did actually know that you could do this but it is not quite the same thing as I was asking for.

Doommaster1994: You should be able to get the exact frequencies using the fine pitch setting because it's not possible to set the frequency in finer steps than that, so a tuner wouldn't help in this case. There must be some other problem?

ui: I'm looking for ways to improve the DPCM editor, but the best option is to do all edits before you convert to DPCM, as it's a little tricky to edit DPCM waves.

QuickSilva: I can probably add that in a future version.

No, I tried. It won't work. I have an instrument playing a F3 at P85 and a F4 playing at P84 and it has this flangy effect which it's not supposed to have. I even try changing their Pxx effect but that doesn't help either.
