Current generation of the trackers is all synth-based, rather than sample-based. So you don't need audio files, only synth plug-in. Most of the trackers has built-in plug-ins which capable to imitate NES sound capabilites very well (and there is 2A03 emulation plug-ins as well).

Check Psycle, Buzz, Sunvox, Renoise (this one is not free), just to name a few.

If anyone wants that bass from the Sunsoft games, please reply to this. If I get a reply I will make it. I will just use AdLib Visual Composer for that, since it's the exact same sound.

The Sunsoft bass, along with a lot of other DPCM stuff from other games, ripped long ago.

Thanks. I don't know if it's the beta version of Famitracker or if it's the files themselves but some of them don't sound right.

You should use them with certain bitrate (pitch), they aren't all at max bitrate because of the memory limitations.

A while ago, I've made a FTM template with the Sunsoft bass (with all the possible pitches) so people could use them for their NES tunes.

What's the point of these templates? The DPCM samples aren't assigned to notes, which is the most important part that required from the template. Maybe something doesn't work for me as it should?

Check other octaves, Shiru.

Also, I don't think they're properly assigned to their respective notes, but I didn't check it out properly

Ok, now I see, though it is very unexpected to have bass samples assigned to 5-6 octaves.

I'm back with a not-so radical request this time.

Midi importing is understandably difficult to implement, but would it be possible to do a Midi exporting function? (Or a Mod exporting function if that's easier)

(And maybe even the possibility of exporting velocities, pitch bends, note cuts, etc...?)

I hope this isn't a weird request, I just thought it would be nice to have...

I hope you understand why MIDI & MOD importing's very difficult.

MIDI has simplistic audio, but it can have multiple channels (even more than the current & beta releases of FamiTracker can support). If the MIDI file has more sound channels than what you need, it will glitch out. That said, most MIDI files have more channels than FamiTracker can support because many MIDI composers don't take enough care to remove unused sound channels.

MOD is also difficult because MOD files can not only contain more sound channels than FamiTracker can support, but each instrument you create in a MOD tracker requires its own audio sample to be imported. In other words, MOD formatted music is like a FamiTracker project where every sound channel is a DPCM channel.

I never do MIDI support, but what would be cool is if you could export your Famitracker files to MIDI. I know you can just export them to NSF and then use NSF2MIDI but in case the NSF has problems and it uses an expansion chip that doesn't work well with NSF export...
