Nope. The importer is based on the source code of the current release, 0.3.7, which has no N163 support. A future version may include it, but first there must be a FamiTracker release that supports it.

Well all that's left is to wait until Rainwarrior releases the new version.

Just because there's a new version of the source code doesn't mean Rain can magically make an NSFImport version of it, you know.

This project is very low priority for me right now. Don't expect an update any time soon. (Sorry.)

It -is- open source, though, in case someone else wants to try to do it.

If you are lucky (haha) it would be as simple as making a diff of nsf importer vs the version of famitracker it was based off of, patching it to the most recent version of famitracker and compiling.

Try it! Maybe you won't have many conflicts to resolve even.

It's not hard to update the NSFImport code for the latest version of Famitracker, but that's not what's being requested. Just updating it to run on Famitracker 0.4.1 is kinda pointless; you wouldn't be able to do anything new with it.

The request was N163 support for NSFImport now that Famitracker has it.

I'll get to it eventually if nobody else wants to take it on, but "eventually" might be a long while from now.

Oh, it doesn't have a unified interface, mmk

Was there ever a post by jsr saying he wouldn't implement this as a standard feature for FamiTracker in the future?

Otherwise, why not just patch this into the newest FamiTracker so both utilities are not necessary?

I'd rather do it by putting a text importer/exporter into Famitracker as a standard feature, and a text exporter into NSFPlay.

(And I still plan to do it, just I've had a series of other projects to complete before I get to it.)

Well, that all sounds good, but what makes that similar to NSF importing?

jsr has expressed the clear intention never to include this as an official feature in FT. I don't know if he did in public, but he certainly did so in private.

Export text from NSFPlay, import text to Famitracker. ?

It would also make it easier to make other export tools. The only reason the NSF importer is built into Famitracker is to use its code for managing the Famitracker data.

Damn that's win/win for you both. You can trash NSF Importer and jsr won't scare people away with RE features.
