At first I thought it was to hide his Famicompo ideas or something from the Famicompo thread, but then I noticed all of his posts are like this. and some of them aren't "." but "-" instead, so it had to have been done manually.
This is unfortunate. I assume no one here knows Javel? If his account got hacked then it's probably possible to restore his posts, but if not then there's not much to do.

Is it at all possible to check IP addresses that Javel has logged in from? If it's from somewhere wildly different than he usually posts from then I guess we could assume he was hacked.
And considering that you'd require database backups from before this happened, the IP check is the best idea; if all seems correct, we might as well leave it, as it's most likely Javel's trying to remove his internet footprint for some odd reason.

I've got most of his FTMs on my hard drive. I'm sure others do too. So... if you need something it can be dug up pretty easily.
Anyhow, maybe he just wants some internet privacy? I dunno, I've known people have done stuff like this for various reasons. Sometimes you have a need to get out of it. I hope he comes back eventually, but I don't think it would be right to restore any of his posts unless we know it was done maliciously.
JSR: I posted something about this in the Site Maintenance section. I am honestly suspicious, as I think I've found evidence that the account was hacked & suggested to check his IPs for any odd changes.
