Seriously though, try to at least put a little bit of meaning to your posts, otherwise it's just mean to the OP and wastes everybody else's time, including your own.

Listen, if you give people an inch they'll take a foot. If we start letting people fill topics with nonsense whenever they don't think much of the tune that was posted in it, this place is going to become a free-for-all just like it was when there was no one to keep things in order. You want to cock around? Go to /b/. This is supposed to be a respectable musicians' community and I'd like to keep it that way if you don't mind, since that's precisely why I and a couple other people were appointed moderators.
Make intelligent posts, or don't make any. Humour is fine, and appreciated even, (and so is having fun, otherwise we wouldn't be here in the first place), but not when it's at the expense of honest members who expect constructive comments about the work they submit here. And adding annoying colour and size tags to an already useless post, Mex, is not what I call "having a little fun", it's irritating at best and clutters the forum.
We have rules now, whether you like it or not. My job (as well as Dave's and RushJet1's) is to enforce them. If you don't agree with them, exit's over there.
Asking everyone to always give constructive criticism all of the time is way beyond us, way beyond the internet and to some extent way beyond humans. Unfortunately we are not robots (w/ or w/o lasers).
In an environment where mods are too lenient, people piss about. And in an environment where mods are not lenient enough, people piss about anyway. So how do you remedy this nonsense?!??!??!! Well, you could just leave it be, but then chaos would be caused! Or, you could ban everyone that is silly, but then there would be no forum.
tl;dr people on the internet are a cancer that can't be destroyed. deal with it.

They're only a cancer if & when they deliberately want to be. If anyone has any complaints about anything, you can either complain to a mod or the admin (i.e.: if you have a problem with jrlepage or any other mod, then tell jsr; it's as simple as that). This said, I have no problem with jrlepage; if you guys do, it's because jrlepage doesn't like the idea of experienced guys biting the newbies (this is, after all, implied on jsr's #1 rule here).
Back to the original topic; the tracks aren't exactly grade A material... None of them are. There's much to be improved on & it will take quite a bit of reading on the wiki, studying the NSF & learning to manipulate the tracker's effects better.

After I listened to the Akumajou Densetsu NSF file, It seems that there is no Triangle Wave in it (Yes. I turned all the volumes down except the Triangle Wave to listen). Some of the songs have the notes of the normal Square Wave 2 from the VRC6's Square Wave 2 while some have the notes of the normal Square Wave 2 from the VRC6's Sawtooth.
I redid the songs. I made the regular Square Wave 1 just one octave lower than the VRC6 Square Wave 1, because I'm a little too lazy to compose an unique notes like the notes in the normal Square Wave 1 of Deja Vu on Castlevania III/Akumajou Densetsu (it was Vampire Killer on CV1).
Why are 7 posts related to the moderation of the Famitracker forums again? It's popular enough to warrant a subforum by now.
@WheeljackDude: If you're willing to improve your .ftms, you might want to look at the .NSF jrlepage attached on page one.

If you're going to mimick a style, you'll end up having to, though. You could also look into replicating the Konami Snare on your noise channel, or take the instrument from an existing .ftm. It sounds a bit awkward without it.
It does help to note how old the original post was; chances are that WheeljackDude already noted the NSF. And sorry to burst your bubble, but there IS a sub-forum concerning moderation & other issues; it's called Site Maintenance.
The only thing is that topics do stray from their original posts.
