That's not very nice. But I do have to admit that, well, it's not very impressive, either as an NES tune or something to rap to.
By the way, you'll probably find that dividing your music into frames (instead of putting the entire thing in one long frame) might be a lot easier to work with. You probably should also have three spaces between quarter notes, not two, if you're making a 4/4 beat at speed 6, because then you'll get one bar per 16 rows (most people use pattern lengths that are a multiple of 16). With my method, you can add eighth notes by putting only one gap instead of three; with your method, you can't add eighth notes (though you can do triplets instead, which is sometimes a desirable compromise, but you weren't taking advantage of it).
Well, to be honest with you, when I first started, I used all 256 lines in a frame. That's something I'd let someone get away with if it's their first time.
However, it indeed isn't something impressive; I'd consider this more of an experimental trial than an actual song that people can do anything with. There's absolutely no harmony with any of the notes & the use of effects in this song is nothing more than experimental at best.
The best thing for the new guy to do is to actually try something basic in terms of musical theory; worry about effects later.

Okay, First of all, chord progressions... Wait... nevermind that, CHORDS!!! C E G or F A C, not D E F. Space out the notes by two, or three for two note power-chords. There's step two. First, listen to the above statements about rhythm.

I also resonate the request to take advantage of those triplets! That drum pattern is so flaaaaaat. You've set yourself up for a beat with a swing! Use it!
The problem was all that pitch change in the instrument. They were outta tune. And I guess I don't know exactly how that works since I tuned the E to work to pitch down to E, but the A (which sounds like an F# in yours) needs different tuning.
