You've made some interesting choices, Ironclad, but I must say I'm impressed by your decision to play your DPCM samples with a G. I wouldn't have thought to do that; I probably would have used a C. Very cool, though. I like the ending.

It's always funny to look back on how hilariously bad you were when you first started.

No, it's not the same; nicetas_c's didn't use the Triangle channel.

Nice one, Mex. At least he didn't do the ASCII finger that I did one time up here. :P

I still have my first tune up here, but I won't bother with reposting it because it was THE crappiest 1st-attempted cover of Clubbed To Death ever made.

Yes, you were fooled. But all in good nature.

Anyways I also think JeffC's first attempt is a good one. It's a solid beat & rhythm; my only qualms are with the volume & the fact that it's only two frames of continuous loop.

As for the rest of us (including me,) we just enjoy instigating things.

In my opinion, you have a very balanced volume for all your channels except for the noise channel's use as percussion.

Here's what I recommend; instead of doing something like this for each note:

D-# 00 5 ---
-
D-# 00 2 ---
-
D-# 00 D ---
-
D-# 00 2 ---
-

Maybe you can use the spare column of dashes (the effects column) to do a faster volume fade (because I feel your noise channel's volume doesn't fade fast enough to avoid playing over & overpowering some notes).

There's a volume fade effect in FamiTracker; here's how I recommend to use it:

D-# 00 5 A0A
-
D-# 00 2 ---
-
D-# 00 D ---
-
D-# 00 2 ---
-

At the very top of the frame, in the noise channel, I've placed the A0A effect right next to the very first beat. What this will achieve is a rapid volume fade. I feel it gives a better beat, but it's totally up to you.

Good tip with the A0A. it sounds a lot better that way.
