I am in need of recreation of the instruments namco used in their 8 bit arcade games. I'm sure namco 106 could nail them perfectly, but any chip will do.

hay, could anyone rip the instruments from the nes smurfs game? I want to remix the soundtrack to the coleco-era smurfs games (e.g. Rescue in gargamel's castle) in that style?

You know you can rip them yourself using the NSF Importer, right?

How do I do that? When I import an nsf file, all I get is a blank instrument.
update: also, there's no accessible way to analise an nsf, which is Why I need your help in ripping these instruments!

You're supposed to recreate the instruments based on what you see in the imported NSF.

that's the problem. Since I'm blind, I can't see anything in the nsf, and jaws has no feedback whatsoever. this is why I can't recreate the original instruments. As I said in my barney song covers thread, I have to import the instruments from elseware.

something I did after modifying an instrument from Rambo. named for a certain british computer manufacturer.
I'm also wondering if anyone is interested in ripping/recreating the imstruments from a certain kareoke program made for chinese famiclones. The instruments are very good and the cartridge itself has the destinktion of being the only nes game to have a version of "there are 7 days " (which happens to be my favorite barney song) as well as the ending theme from barney, among other pd songs. here's the nsf for refference or if you want to hear some nice 2a03 versions of barney songs

thanks! these were spot-on!
I'm still waiting for someone to rip me the instruments from that dance and karayoke cartridge (the one from which I attached the nsf last week), but in the mean time, here is another instrument I have, and a sample of the Namco wave pack you sent me (it's from the genesis version of pac-man2).

I'm half tempted to keep this to myself
Female opera singer for 2a03, works well from octaves 4 to 6, with a little bit of leeway at each end
