Coincidentally, it was based off of Super Mario Kart's synthbass.
Emulating instruments with N163 is a ton of fun!! I think I'm going to go recreate Mega Man X's overdriven guitar and end up with a piano or something like that
Um... Well I edited my sax and trumpet instruments for N163, I think the sax sounds pretty neat, but I kind of liked the trumpet the way it was before, but eh.
DPCM Bass instruments.
Sunsoft pick and slap bass pitch range is from A#1 to D-5.
Fester's Quest bass pitch range is from B-1 to D-5, but there is no A#4 due to a non-existant A#4 sample.
Modified Zombie Nation bass pitch range is from A#1 to D-5.
I hope you will find this neat.

(anyone who joined in the bandwagon of screwing around with my bassline in the doodle thread will know. if you didn't just go look at the doodle thread xD)
Now you all can make Sunsoft style music with the Sunsoft Instrument Pack!! You can modify volumes, pitch bends and arp sequences to make different variations of the Sunsoft instruments. You can also add instruments.
Haven't posted here in centuries!
But I have one small contribution
I tried to mimic a heart monitor and give it a nice sound...
Nice sound- Accomplished!
Heart Monitor- FAIL

Can someone make an instrument that sounds like... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PdFg2DOwNk
Starting at 0:00, that...particular instrument at constantly plays the
E Note every eighth(?) beat. My question is: Can someone make that, and possibly add a fade in effect to it too? That would be much appreciated.

I have no idea if there's really any good use for this, but I decided to try to use the N163 as a noise channel. At normal clock-rate the noise is limited to the bottom three octaves, but if you increase the clock-rate to 400hz it actually makes a pretty good extra noise channel. Unfortunately since overclocking is pretty much unsupported I find the use of the N163 as a noise channel pretty limited.
N163 noise has been done before, I think Kulor was the first one to do it. He used a technique similar to yours, but what he did different was he combined square wave tones and pitch slides to achieve some sort of one-channel drum effect. It worked quite nicely!
