This is something quite amusing.
I imported a touhou sound effect (spell card casting) at a low sample rate(Pitch 11). When I played this sound effect at Pitch 15, it sounded like a pow drum and it works well.
Since I have to use both sounds in my game, this saves a lot of DPCM space.
that bell sound in the famic.ftm file sounded like it was ripped right out of the japanese version of zelda.
I was wondering if anyone could rip the instruments of kemco's games. (bugs bunny's crazy castle, shadogate, ...)
I was ripping Shatterhand instruments a while back, but I couldn't get the vibrato right, so I just stopped. I came back to it yesterday, tinkered with it some more, and it still doesn't work right. I would really appreciate it if someone could fix it up, because I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

and the flute in the same file sounds like the one that kogy kondo used in his fds soundtracks. you could hear it in zelda, smb2j, and mysterious castle of murosom.
I was wondering, could you try to rip the other fds instruments kondo used?

I am in need of recreation of the instruments namco used in their 8 bit arcade games. I'm sure namco 106 could nail them perfectly, but any chip will do.
