Really thoroughly enjoyed that. I think I actually would have enjoyed a more powerful dubstep break section, as a matter of fact. That's only a suggestion for next time, though; other than that it was great!

Wow, a TRIPLE post! That has to be a record...

Thanks for your suggestion, though. If I ever get around to making a song entirely in dubstep style, then I'll take your advice into consideration. Thanks for listening. X3

I believe that the record record is currently a septuple post if I am not mistaken...

Anyways, this is nice stuff, man! It reminds me a lot of Pushing Onwards from VVVVVV. In fact, it seems like frame 1E is very similar to a tiny portion of Pushing Onwards. It's nice though, and blends in well!
The only thing I didn't enjoy as much was the dubstep section. It just seemed off to me compared with how awesome everything else is.
Keep this stuff up!

I'd say this is the record, 17 posts in a row

Regarding one of the first posts in this thread, I also got the AVGN reference from the song title.

I just realized that the chord progression resembles Pushing Onwards. XDD I thought it sounded familiar, but I just couldn't remember what it sounded like in the middle of making it.

And for the dubstep portion, that was my first time ever attempting to recreate the sound. I did my best to mimick the style for fun, but that's really not my forte. TBH, I think it's really hackneyed in modern pop music, which is probably why I even put it there; a quick jabby reference to modern music. I'm sure you can agree with me on how cliche the genre is becoming; IT'S EVEN TAKING OVER THIS GENRE, WITH ENTIRE CHIPTUNES BEING IN DUBSTEP STYLE. *ahem* But, I digress. This turned in to quite a monster of a reply. Thanks for listening. ^^

um how is pop music any more cliche than video game music?

In all fairness, you are correct; the chiptune genre is become much less obscure as this decade progresses. Everybody blindly calls it "8-bit" music (which is part of why I called this track "Quarter Bit" ) and relates it to pixel art, claiming "IT SOUNDWS LIEK MAHRIO". So, you're right. Chiptunes are becoming a little cliche, especially on the internet.

BUT NOT AS CLICHE AS THE HOUSE AND DUBSTEP POP GENRE AIRING OVER EVERY RADIO STATION 24 FUGGIN 7.

Here's how I see it; if I ever hear one chiptune play on a public fm radio station, then I'll buy it. It's officially exposed to the vast mainstream, at that point. And I'm not talking about house with a few square pulses thrown here and there. I'm talking arps, noise percussion/samples, and all. When I see chiptune compilation vids with views in the few hundred thousands and several House compilations with MILLIONS... then you know we have a long way to go before RushJet1 collaborates with David Guetta. We're getting pretty damn close, but we're not there yet.

Why collab with David Guetta when there's Rotten Sound? :3

Sigh... I need to learn to be less aggressive with the send button.

More precisely, it's grindcore, but whatever...

And yeah, I was just joking (for the record, I do like Rotten Sound).

I had really crappy internet connection for a whole month while travelling so I ended up constantly doubleposting and occasionally triple/quadruple posting.

Seriously, nice song. I actually feel like a dubstep remix would be good for this song =P

EDIT: Is that Guile's Theme I hear at 1E?
