You've made some interesting choices, Ironclad, but I must say I'm impressed by your decision to play your DPCM samples with a G. I wouldn't have thought to do that; I probably would have used a C. Very cool, though. I like the ending.

Anyways I also think JeffC's first attempt is a good one. It's a solid beat & rhythm; my only qualms are with the volume & the fact that it's only two frames of continuous loop.
As for the rest of us (including me,) we just enjoy instigating things.

Maybe you can use the spare column of dashes (the effects column) to do a faster volume fade (because I feel your noise channel's volume doesn't fade fast enough to avoid playing over & overpowering some notes).
There's a volume fade effect in FamiTracker; here's how I recommend to use it:
At the very top of the frame, in the noise channel, I've placed the A0A effect right next to the very first beat. What this will achieve is a rapid volume fade. I feel it gives a better beat, but it's totally up to you.
