This was my third or fourth attempt at famitracker (I think steadily posting my old stuff in chronological order is best; that way the quality generally improves...), and the first attempt that's remotely worth sharing.
Heavy-handed and not particularly successful, but it was the first cover in which I felt I was, to some appreciable degree, imposing my interpretive will on the software while making it. Instead of being cluelessly dragged along by the seat of my pants.
The source is not a good fit for my emulated hardware setup of choice, but at the time I told myself it was possible and desperately tried to make it work.
If you want instrument 06 to really be a pan flute, give it a different kind of attack, let the volume fade in from something lower. Adding an 8 to the beginning seems to work okay, adding 5 8 works even better.
You know what? For what it is, I certainly enjoyed it. Dwedit is right about the pan flute advice, but for what it is, this was a relatively enjoyable listen.

Thanks, guys. The pan flute (among other things) is definitely off the mark in this cover; I couldn't find a way to make the more "breathy" note onset that pan flutes have, and that might be part of why I decided on a slightly sharper attack.
Gentler note onset is decidedly more pleasing to the ear. I think my main rationale at the time was that I wanted the attack to roughly match that of the backing flute on the triangle channel, which is supposed to be the same instrument.
Though that might be giving past me too much credit, as I was generally pretty confused back then.
