Miss my wave of works? Don't get used to it. My girlfriend's coming up from Florida, so my time and devotion will go to her (editing this work if needed can be done Monday and Tuesday, but only small edits). For the next two weeks, I'll be taking a work break, but I'll still come around the forums to see how everyone is doing.

Anyways, what got me to work on this little piece? I already covered two other songs from the game, Wave Man and Wily's Castle, respectively. What makes this so special? I actually really like this theme...to an extent. It needed some work to be done, so that's where I came in. I haven't seen a VRC6 cover of this (or at the least don't remember there being another one), so I wanted to, once again, throw my hat in the ring.

The result is...interesting. Some parts would sound odd to you (like some notes in Frame 3; VRC6 Pulse 1 most people would say should be lower, but I like the way it is), but I decided to go a more unique route than I normally take with note harmonies. This one took about as long as "Theme of Tara" did, mostly because of some notes that were difficult to read, understanding harmonies and chords since they change so much in this song, and just listening to it OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN to make sure it was just right. I think I got the feel down on this one. If there was a cover of mine that rivals Wave Man (one of the very few I personally enjoy to each extent), it has to be doing SOMETHING right.

Criticize away and enjoy! ^_^

First off, I'm not familiar with the original, nor have I played whichever specific Capcom game this might have been in.

However, I admire the work put into this. Personally, speed 1 pieces tend to make my brain hurt. When working on a piece, I need to be able to see a certain amount of time around my notes, you know? Having the piece is in Speed 1 feels like having a smaller field of view.

But more on the actual sound of your module, I do like it. It's nice and I like the small little details you included and perfected. However, one thing that bothers me is that the VRC6 Pulse 1 sounds better an octave lower for the middle part of the song. To me, it sounds whiny. But when it's an octave lower, it adds depth and a nice, flowing bass-like melody.

After I tried this out myself on your module, I quite liked the song a bit more. That's all I have for you. Good stuff. Sorry to hear you'll be going, but it's nice that it's for a positive reason. <3

You never leave my ears disappointed. There's just something unique about all your Speed 1 VRC6 songs, but I can't quite grasp it.
Have a nice break, and I hope we'll see more Megaman and Banjo-Kazooie from you in the future!

I don't quite like the difference in chords between yours and the original in frame 03 but the rest of it works and fits the feel of the original.
