I'm a big fat cheater who needs multichip to make things sound good and my FTMs are sloppy as fuck.
Oh well, it sounds well enough even if it is sloppy and probably inaccurate in a buncha places. That's what I get for abandoning FT in favor of pxTone for like two months.
It's surprisingly comfortable, coming from someone who's never used a piano roll in his life. Plus, you can't go wrong with the ORG samplebank.
Stupid dumb final boss shenanigans made me recognize this tune instantly. Good cover, still puzzles me how to multichip
Giant Press, eh? That's my guess, at least. Precursor to the true final boss. Currently trying to muscle my way through Hell, somewhat unsuccessfully. I feel your pain.
If you want the best ending, you have to endure a (literally) hellish obstacle course followed by a miniboss followed by all four forms of the true final boss. And you get no heal/save points at all throughout the whole thing; only just before it. Have fun!
Also, new version of the song. Tweaked the instruments, corrected a couple volume/octave mistakes.
I've never seen anything like this before...
Can I ask how you used more than one chip?
Also: Screw the Blood Stained Sanctuary.

HertzDevil made a bunch of hacked FTMs with all the different expansion chips in 'em. They can get a bit buggy with a bunch of channels, but on the lower end of things it's stable enough. Read here for more info and a download.

Amen to that.
You can just fiddle around with the text-export files to get any combination of expansion chips, even the buggy Sunsoft 5B that everyone cares about.
Look for EXPANSIONS under Global Settings in the text export - 1 is VRC6, 2 is VRC7, 4 is FDS, 8 is MMC, 16 is Namco 163, and 32 is Sunsoft 5B. Remember to add the amount of numbers corresponding to the extra channels in COLUMNS and ORDER.
