I saw him dancing there by the record machine
I knew he musta been about seventeen
The beat was goin' strong, playin' my favorite song
And I could tell it wouldn't be long till he was with me, yeah me
And I could tell it wouldn't be long till he was with me, yeah me
Singin'
I love rock 'n' roll, so put another dime in the jukebox baby
I love rock 'n' roll, so come on, take your time and dance with me

(EDIT: Moved the "Ow!" to one beat earlier, where it should be)

Very nice! Just one question, were the samples for the guitar ripped right out of the song, or did you make them yourself?

Straight from the original song.

That's probably why the chorus sounds a bit out of tune to me. Dunno how to fix it. (I've tried messing with Pxx commands to play with the tuning...)

And considering the 2A03 doesn't have a wide range of fine pitches to select, especially at higher frequencies, makes this a challenge. Anyways, this reminds me very much of the original song and it's pretty good. I even started dancing in place at the beat of it!

I'm actually surprised my mother didn't start singing the Weird Al lyrics when I showed it to her. She always does that when I cover a song that Weird Al happened to parody.

Maybe it's because my version has no accordion.

It's decent, and I'm fairly sure that it sticks to how the original song sounds, I feel like it sounds a bit cheesy. Like, mostly because of the attack of the lead instruments (it really starts to grind my gears after a while), and the auto-fade without manual tweaking to the volume (this is without looking), and the fact that even though it tries to do a near-exact cover of the original song, it is sort of in that area where it goes as follows: 1) Definitely not a 100% attempt, 2) Not a cover where a noticeable amount of creative freedom was taken, and 3) It's sitting right inbetween a good cover and a good remix. It's awkward, and thus it gives me that "cheesy" vibe.

If I could offer some useful advice, it'd be to mix it up a bit so that it's not just the melody which differentiates each part, but also the sound of the 2A03 instrument, meaning "voice" (which you did already, Vxx), and also changing up the attack and release on those instruments. And if you're going for a 100% (which basically is impossible given the context), go as far as you can, and adapt it to your module/tracker. But since this is hard to do, I'd lean towards more of an original approach.

Sorry if this isn't any more than a long, elitist post or something! I only want to help. Best of fortune, furrykef!
