At first I had only composed the first Pulse 1, the first Pulse 2 and the triangle.
Today I changed the thing completely, moved the notes from the triangle to the 2nd Pulse 1, and made it sound better.
Some questions...
- Pulse 1: should I change it?
- Pulse 2: should I keep the P81 effect? And should I keep the Q effects?
- Triangle: does the bass need a lower/higher note than B-3? (Not that it makes that much of a difference, I think)
- 2nd Pulse 1: Are notes too loud? Should I change them? On Frame 03, should I keep the D#5 note or change it to a D-5?
- Should I use the 2nd Pulse 2?
- Sawtooth: The A-1 note sounds off sometimes. Is it because the note is bad, the instrument is bad, or something like that? Or should I leave it alone and NEVER AGAIN TOUCH THAT CHANNEL?
Btw, maybe there’re too much 4 effects?
Thanks for listening, and please tell me what you think and get angry when you realize that maybe, MAYBE this doesn't sound like Cave Story at all!
P.S.: this IS supposed to be a short song, as many Cave Story songs are really short. If I have to post this in the Doodles thread, please tell me.

I actually kind of like what you have going on here, but your pulses are a little overbearing with that high pitch; maybe tone it down on the volume a bit?
Your effects are part of what make this an interesting listen, IMO - 1 vote for keep 'em in.
Frame 03 VRC6 Pulse 1: E-5 sounds best to me.
The saw might get better if the high-pitch stuff got a little quieter. Then again, it sounds ok an octave lower with a little more volume, too.
I don't think Cave Story uses any arps, not that it really matters. :P
Not bad; it sounds like something worth developing to me.

I know I said it a long time ago, but I've only just now gotten around to posting this.
This does actually sound like something from Cave Story, maybe more so if it had more varying drums and the loop was a little longer.
The triangle sounds fine, no complaints there.
Pulse 1, maybe if the song moved on to something else further on, then yes, but as it is it's fine.
Pulse 2, the P81 effect is okay to keep because you're stopping the conflictions between it and both pulse 1s. Also, the pitch changed is almost unnoticeable. If it were at a higher pitch, I might recommend it because it becomes more noticeable then. The Q effects are okay.
The other pulse 1, this is just my opinion, but I think that it sounds better with D than D#. Just an opinion though.
I'm pretty sure the sawtooth is okay too.
Overall, nice job on this. It sounds like it would be in the setting of some water ruins or something.

Edited the first song a bit. Changed the volume of some Pulses, I think, and also took Necrophageon's suggestion and now the Sawtooth's notes are an octave lower.
About two weeks ago I composed another song, VERY inspired by the Wind Fortress song from Cave Story. Some parts sound very bad, though, and the song sounds very empty in some parts... but maybe I'm wrong and the song is my ULTIMATE MASTERPIECE, so you tell me!
Vectorman: varying drums? I'll definitely think about it! I imagine the song being used in some sort of cave-like place, and don't really get how you can imagine it being used in "some water ruins".
