Well, time to get to the topic. Back when Rushjet1 completely renovated the Mega Man 3 Soundtrack, I fell in love with Spark-Dark. To make sure that I can make 900 BPM well and have the ability to emulate anything with it, I decided...to make a 900 BPM version with a few noticable changes that you'll likely notice.
This one didn't take too long to make, thankfully. Then again, Suicune's Battle is nearly two minutes and this is around 30-ish seconds.
Rushjet1's version and my version are obviously different--mine is the 900 BPM version (derp?).
Update (after 3 minutes): I JUST NOW compared my version to the NSF Import version. God bless...I'm off in quite a few places. I'm attaching it for your own comparison.

Although I don't notice much difference, there are spots that sound different, like the beginning. It seems you are getting pretty good in this, so keep going! These FTMs you made are cool!
I wanted to sound SOMEWHAT different, like the extra echoes in VRC6 Pulse 1 and the Octavely-forced Triange, but to still hold true to Rushjet1's version. I might do more, I might not. It honestly depends on what comes to mind.

So, after some decision making and how much fun I had with Spark-Dark, I went on and put myself up to the challenge: Make Rushjet1's Rock Man 3 Soundtrack in 900 BPM with...a few changes that I think could've made it the tiniest push better. Of course, I need rules for this, so I made the following rules:
*Absolutely no using the NSF Importer in any way. It's cheating in an ungodly fashion.
*Get rid of the muddled sounds. It was hard to find a bad sound mix (one or two in Spark-Dark) and it's easily fixed with Pxx anyways.
*Any order can be given for the completion of the works, but Proto Man's theme must be the last one to conclude the project (in other words, this is the one exception).
*Don't stress yourself. If you get stumped, go back to watching Nostalgia Critic and Diabeetus videos on YouTube.
*Obviously, 900 BPM only. There is no changing it for any reason.
*Somehow figure out how to do Magnet Man.
*Learn to draw because the images in your head when you hear these songs can make some good posters.
*These rules are getting out of hand...
*Have fun.
...something like that.
Well, I worked on Needle-Dark this morning. Now for thoughts.
Original: The drums got on my nerves, but I didn't change them because...that wouldn't be following the source material close enough...that and I grew on them quite a bit. The song itself needed tweaks and only tweaks. A bit of note shifting here and there in the main lead...a tiny echo in Pulse 2 here and there...and Octave play in the Triangle...done!
900 BPM: I know I got some odd detail wrong...I can hear it somewhere...why does this always happen?
Well, enjoy.
This is weird but OK I'll bite. I'm gonna ignore stuff you probably changed on purpose.
I wouldn't blame you for feeling that way. Honestly, I'm mainly doing this to understand how to use 900 BPM more before I get to bigger and better things. Also, I will typically intend to alter it slightly--just minor details under most circumstances.
Frame 09: a note is wrong at the end of the run here on tri/saw- yours ends on A#3 while mine ends on A3.
Frame 09: Found it! I'm not entirely sure how that skipped my mind...
Frame 0F: the arps in mine change to the final chord a quarter of a frame before yours does.
Frame 0F: Found it again.
Frames 0E/0F: the timpani timing is off here, should be rows 00, 1E, 3C, 50, 6E, 78, 8C.
Frame 0E/0F: ...how did I miss that? o.o
Moral: I...I really need to pay more attention.
Well, time for an update. I added the CapKonami Logo and the Password Themes because I found a small amount of time in class to do so. Also, I'm pretty sure that I did something incorrect in Spark-Dark, though I'm not sure as to what...my guess is either the incorrect vibrato or the volume in places.

You sir will soon kick some asses. This is pretty good up to now, and it's cool that you are unserstanding better the mechanics of 900 BPM, which, as I think, is something only the coolest guys can do.
You might find interesting that the first thing you can do to start a song at this speed is to study the exact places where the beats will go, so you can have a better timing when placing notes and effects. Up to now I think this is pretty decent, and I bet it will get better.
So I'm bumping the thread because I've decided to add something in there that wasn't in the original soundtrack.
Much like how Rushjet1 made 8 variations to the Boss Theme for the Rematches to match the Robot Masters, in an experimental twist, I attempted a similar direction with Spark Dark. Because it's a Doc Robot Stage with Metal Man and Quick Man, why not have a version that hints at each of them?
Attempts are in there, along with a nearly unnoticable change in Spark Dark (that last string of notes or something like that). After class, I'll experiment some more and cover another song, likely.

I've been away from this project for a while, so I decided to come back and do one song I thought was kind of...odd of Rushjet1 to change the way he did: Magnet Man.
The concept of the swing was quite promising and, at first, I really started to like the song...until the lead began. I'm not sure what it was--the lead being off-beat or me not knowing how real swing is. Either way, it didn't sound right to me. The last frame in his version proved my point further. It felt like it was...out of place with the rest of the song.
So...this is more than a few curves and echoes. This version of his Magnet Man has the lead changed and, at times, the melody is slightly changed to match as well, as seen in Frames 0C and 0D in the 2A03 Pulse 2. In fact...I'm still not sure how the melody would work in the last part. I just didn't feel like it was in place.
In short, if you're reading this Rushjet1 (and chances are, you eventually will), I thought Magnet Man was a hit and miss at the same time. Then again, you did say that it was kinda 50/50 with the audience, didn't you?
