Little tune I wrote in an attempt to make something extremely stripped down yet emotive. Pulse and triangle channels only.

edit: took a break, came back and noticed some off-sounding notes so I fixed them to hopefully make things flow better. Also, added CheeseGuy99's drum edit to this post because I really like it.

I just want to say. I automatically love songs in which the triangle takes a lead role.

I love this song! I have been listening for about 15 minutes now, and I have to say that, in my opinion, drums would have made it even better. I just feel like it's needs it.

That's why I added them.

Thanks, and that does sound pretty good! It sounded okay without drums so I wasn't feeling very inspired to write some and potentially mess things up, but you did a good job.

Thanks! That's the first edit I've ever done, and yeah, It sounded great without drums. Great job on the song! I was worried I would ruin the song with them.

I just wish there was a way to not have the DPCM samples mess with the triangle volume level but I guess that's just a trade-off.

Both versions are pretty good. Robro, maybe you could have put a Z7F or something to lower the volume of the triangle, since it stands too much over the other channels. I think this still can be considered a classical song if it uses that. Still, the song is very good. Nice job!

EDIT: And yeah, sometimes it would be good that DPCM didn't mess with tri and noise.

You think? Hm, I kept turning the pulse channels down throughout composing because they were obscuring the triangle too much to my ears.

I mean technically the triangle channel is much louder, but square waves have way more harmonic information so my perception was that they were about equal. Do you think it sounds better in the drum version where the DPCM brings down the triangle volume a little?

We probably have different sounding speakers as well.

edit: made an nsf of CheeseGuy's version and I think the balance is better.

I think it was better before(in the FTM), but if we get to consider that my headphones go weird on the equalizer the software has(Dolby), maybe it can just be an unbalacing of volume consistency, which I have experienced while listening to some of my tunes. Also, NSF players have different ways to make everything sound. But well, by turning it down just a little bit(maybe something close to Z20 or Z30) it might sound better on me. I'll go see that now.

EDIT: No, it sounds worse if you put a Z30. The first version was okay.

I think the balance is just right, you shouldn't have to lower the Triangle volume, it stands out, but it really needs to because it is the solo part, and it's not like you can't hear the harmonies, they are still present and vibrant

That's what tilting the sample is for. =P

But I would have loved to see a DPCM echo effect with the Triangle set I can't find anywhere...

Aw snap. Thanks!

edit: funnily enough I thought the pulses now sounded slightly too weak so I bumped them up a tad.

Maybe Mr_Master was right then. =V Should've tilted it up to 30 instead of 0.
