Since I have a feeling that Famitracker is my new hobby, I should make a thread where I post all my stuff, instead of inconveniently making multiple threads for one or two songs.

To start it off, I have two covers, and one new original.

The first cover: Breath of Fire's second regular battle theme in VRC6. I haven't played that game in so many years, yet I still remember this one. This was pretty easy to cover, due to how short the song is. Still needs a bit of work with the volume controlling, though.

The second cover which is more like a remix, some of you were probably expecting this, but: Quite possibly the 5,000th Korobeiniki (AKA: Tetris Type A) remix in existence. And now I know why so many people remix it, it's the easiest friggin' song in the world to cover, because it only took me like a half an hour to make. It's a remix, because I sorta added a tablespoon of Sakuraba into the mix for no reason.

And now as for the original, this was my attempt at a 2A03 only one. It could work as a regular battle theme of an RPG, and it sounds a bit like Hand to Hand from Star Ocean: Blue Sphere (which is something I've been thinking about covering for some time now.) The melody at the bits with the Skate or Die 2-sounding guitar seems a bit random. There's a bit of an issue with the echoes at frames 0D and 0E. The chords at frames 11 and 12 could have been better. But other than those issues, I like it overall.

It's actually the 4999th remix. =P

Joking aside, it's good. Though you could double up the DPCM snares with noise snares. The second track sounds a bit discorded and you could utilise the channels a bit more. Maybe echo would be nice...

As for the originals, they're better than the covers! I'm serious! The only thing I have to say is to either add vibrato or use a P7F effect on the echo parts.

Adding the chorus effect actually made the echo parts sound a little better.

Yeah, that's kind of what I meant.

New VRC6 original: Strange Labyrinth. This could work as a dungeon theme late in an RPG. It sounds a lot like True Figure from the first Star Ocean.

Also included in the module is a short victory theme.

Yikes! Double post, AND a bump!

Urgh, my Famitracking has been slow lately, since one of our computers was taken away, so I pretty much have to rely on the computers at the library to do anything computer and internet wise for the next several months.

But at least I have a couple things to share, a new original, and a remake of the first song I shared here.

The original is yet another Sakuraba-sounding thing that could work as a battle theme. I'm already starting to think my stuff sounds like a gimmick. Heh, get it? Because it was made with Movies' Sunsoft pack, and Gimmick is a Sunsoft game? Ehhhh... Bad joke, I know. Also, try to find the not-so-hidden bit of the Battletoads intermission theme somewhere in the song.

The second file is a remake of the first song I shared here, the crappy VRC7 monstrosity that consisted of random melodies, and lack of effort. I tried to reduce the randomness of the melodies by adding more or less to them. I didn't want to add any lame echo effects, so it sounds a little empty without them. I didn't bother giving the lead chords at frames 1A & 1B, because I don't think they would sound very good (or I'm just terrible at making chords at the key of those two frames.) Overall, it's still not incredibly great, but to me, it sounds a lot better than the original version. Also included in the module is a song of which I only put four frames into. I may or may not finish it.

Hmm... Wasn't expecting this one to sound like some final boss theme or whatever. Five minutes in total length with a nearly four minute loop. Made with this VRC6 instrument pack.

And it seems to have more of a ZUN-ish feel to it, rather than the usual Sakuraba-ish feel to it. Maybe a combination of both? OH GOD, WHAT HAVE I CREATED.

Oh man, stoopid gimmick is really, really cool. I love that bassline haha. I've been listening to your other originals and they are pretty sweet man, I liked strange_labyrinth alot! It had some really good vibes in it

About the last one you posted "earthshattering battle with god" This is fantastic, the intro is really really spooky,my only gripe so far is that frame 13 needs to be bigger, when that comes in it should just explode into awesomeness and not let up!

great work Lan

Bump. Decided to take a bit of a break from Famitracker ever since I finished "Earth-shattering Battle with God."

This new original is a light one, finished it in about a half an hour. Combining the 2A03 triangle with an FDS triangle makes kind of a nice effect.

Yet another boss theme type of thing (A Faithful Student's True Test,) and a worthless bump that makes me look like an attention whore, considering I seem to do this whenever this thread falls off the first page.

I'm not entirely satisfied with this one, though, the volume leveling is crap, because the VRC7 is a loud ass mofo. And frame 10 could've been a bit better, but I like it overall.

And I've also decided to make some small changes to a couple of my previous works (except for "OH GOD, LUCARIO HENTAI!!!" which is there for archiving purposes, though the volume control still needs to be fixed like Doxic suggested. I also have an unfinished remake of it using Zamual's N168 instrument pack.)

I guarantee you, once Animal Crossing: New Leaf comes out, my Famitracking is gonna be even slower than before.

Sorry I haven't said anything lately...

Strange Labyrinth, strangely, reminds me more of Hill Top Zone than anything else, prob because of that whiny lead. Not your typical work, actually.

And really? Beginner's luck AGAIN? Though it's nice to have one song you keep on improving to compare it with your original to see your improvement, really? [/rant] Bitching aside, this is actually much better, as I said. I won't say anything else, tho.

OH GOD LUCARIO HENTAI!!! This is good, actually, but you need to double up the DPCM with noise snares, because your hihats are very soft actually, so you can remove them no problem. You might want to soften Namco 5, though...

A Faithful Student's True Test. I agree that the VRC7 volume control sucks balls, though then again, it was a low-cost chip. Frames 0E and 0F sound real chaotic, but the rest fits the theme quite well. Whenever I need a final boss theme, I'll be sure to turn to you!

Take Up The Cross. You really are a fan of these kind of themes, eh? In frames 03 and 04, the 2A03 Pulse 2 is a bit loud... Other than that, good cover. And just saying, instead of using Bxx effects, you can use Dxx effects so that you don't have to use different patterns for different frames. Just saying.

I made OGLH back in March, and was the second original I ever shared here, so it's rather shabby. I may go back to doing that remake with Zamual's instruments, and I guess screw the hihats then.

My cover of TUtC was the third work I ever shared, so I never even knew about the Dxx effect until later, and I forgot to change that for the edited version. Derp de derp.

Anyhow. Attempting to experiment with Mega Man instruments, albeit a bit poorly...

Another original? Man, you're balling!

What I have to say about this one is that one, you could use the "MM2 Snare" because it sounds better. And if you want to use triangle toms, then you should consider spacing them at least 3 semitones apart instead.

Decided to do a cover of Flowering Night from Touhou 10.5. Mostly covered by memory, so the percussion kinda sucks, and the noise channel isn't used at all sadly. I may do some improvements later, like extending the length to make it more of an arrangement than a cover (like it get's faster paced later on, sort of like the TH9 version,) and of course, throw in cymbals, and noise snares to cooperate with the DPCM snares.
