jrlepage suggested I start a thread for all my OHCs. So, here it is!
If you don't know, the concept is pretty simple - you get an hour to do a song, and then all the entrants listen to the entries.
I do all my OHCs here http://compo.thasauce.net/compos/view/OHC and here http://battleofthebits.org/ .
Hello. First, may I ask where the hell is Patashu does not understand human emotions? I liked that as well.
Now, everything is good. However, it's hard to me to make an observation of each one of them since I am not in my original computer at the moment. I like the fact that these are made in just one hour, though. Pretty amazing. I am looking forward to hear more of your stuff.
And I suggest you put them in a zip or rar file if there are too many files.

I probably won't do any OHCs yet (these scare me), but I hope that I can at least do something in the future...
The only way to get better at OHCs is to do more and to care more about 'how to get better' than 'how good am I right now'. Chop chop
(I'll even OHC with you if you can organize it)
At Mr Master's request, here is PATASHU DOES NOT UNDERSTAND HUMAN EMOTIONS, aka my first attempt at a happy song (and said attempt happens to be in OHC format)
That song is awesome. The noise effect at the end made me laugh the first time I heard it. Some stupid things happened in my mind at the moment. The name of the song is weird, though. I thought it was going to be something scary, and that cute melody blasted out.

That's probably easier said than done LOL...
But still, thanks for the wise words of yours!
BTW, the site is a little confusing for me atm, what exactly are the rules when composing... no... doing anything there?

The rules vary from compo to compo, Depending on what format we are doing there will be certain guidelines, and additional rules, and themes in the "Bitpack". On certain compos, this is where you pick up your samples, like in a S3xmodit, or a Remix compo, generally only those two have samples, but sometimes others do. However, when you are using samples, you may not add any of your own, or edit them in anyway, unless the bitpack rules say otherwise, (this I believe doesn't apply to remix compos) Yes it can be restrictive, but that's part of the fun, you are doing this to learn! It's always fun to take something limited and make an awesome little tune in a very short amount of time. If you want to start reading up on everything, I suggest browsing through the Lcyeum ->> http://battleofthebits.org/lyceum/Glossary
Enjoy )

Mild Irritation of the Pharaoh
In the 'egyptian scale' (1 3 1 2 1 3 1)
for http://compo.thasauce.net/rounds/view/OHC230
All I wanted to do when I started was play around with the scale, so I pretty much went nowhere hahah. but this scale is really fun and everyone needs to try it at least once
Cool! Your OHCs have always drawn my attention because of the style you have. It's so different than others(I don't know how to explain this). My only complain is those triangle toms(is that the name?) that appear through some frames. They are too loud, but I see it difficult to fix them.
Still, nice work! It's cool when melodic channels blast a very brief percussion sound without you noticing!
