Hello again, Famipeople!
I finally finished this cover.
I think it sounds pretty good.
Well, enjoy.

Any NSF that uses the N163 at 8 channels will sound terrible. It's just a badly designed sound chip that doesn't can't actually mix channels, all it can do is play the volume levels one after the other and hope that lowpass filters take care of the horrible noise you get from doing that.
You can somewhat compensate for this by using less than 8 channels. Or even configure your player to lowpass at 8000Hz, but that's just mutilating the sound at that point.

So your cover sounds good and enjoyable, but then it's ruined by how awful the N163 sound chip sounds.

I agree. The cover itself sounds awesome, but with all the channels going, there's an annoying buzz that makes my ears feel slightly raped. So, I guess, good work, just a shame you didn't have a better situation to work with.

Oh god yes. I was playing some Phoenix Wright earlier today and I was hoping someone would cover some of its soundtrack.

For those of you who favour their own ears over hardware accuracy: [url=https://dl.dropbox.com/u/34026765/n163_un-ass.reg]click here. Just save as, then apply the registry key, and rejoice.

This is a pretty good tune, Milos!

EDIT: found a wave location conflict. Your instruments 01 and 04 attempt to read from the same position (32) in a few places (like the end of the second frame).

I record (some) NSFs on hardware. Feel free to [url=http://www.famitracker.com/forum/posts.php?id=3633]request a hardware render.

Great work on this one, it's a well done cover.
But yeah, I always use 6 channel with the N163, using all of them will make the track sound bad.
