With my college classes going on, I've been working on and off on this since august. Aw man, that sucks, I lost a platter hard drive before from a Read / write head burning out. hours / days of work lost, I know that pain

I always had the idea to make a cover of it, but having in mind something like multiexpansion and without DPCM. This is nice, although it misses some of the rhythm present in the original one. For instance, the triangle is blank, so you might try putting some tri kicks or something. They are not awesome, but if you mix them well with noise you might achieve great sounds.

It shouldn't have been made. Ever. But it was.

I feel it's off-tune badly, but it's just because the song is that annoying when converted to 8bit, so good job covering it.

btw, that dpcm is nice!

If genre X doesn't sound good in 8-bit, it just means the attempt wasn't good enough.

Thank you all for the honesty! I love that about this place! For the one's asking why, nearly all covers I've found on youtube were using gxscc, with the synthesia midi. They claimed that their covers were 8 bit, which bothered me a lot. I found a few others that were made in famitracker, so I decided to give it a shot! once again, thank you for the honesty.

I just tried to be nice at the end, but it looks like that I failed...
It's still better than any GXSCC versions out there (even though I've never heard those).

It doesn't necessarily mean that a specific genre doesn't sound great in 8-bit, it could also be a specific song and Gangnam Style is probably one of them.

Speaking of songs, I wonder if The Prodigy - Voodoo People would sound good? Naaah, probably not...
