[url=http://compo.thasauce.net/rounds/view/OHC211]http://compo.thasauce.net/rounds/view/OHC211 (adapted from my one hour compo entry)

An intro theme to a non-existent game - violent war erupts again and again, with no humanity and no end in sight. When your country is dragged into the conflict, you have no choice but to hijack a mech and see this to an end yourself - with nothung but hot blooded determination and righteousness blowing in your sails.

Vital statistics: VRC6, 138.4615... bpm, G# major (a bit of it is in C# major by accident, oops. so the song has both Gs and F#s in it lol)

EDIT: Updated with Fezuke and robro's help!

This is pretty damn kool. Took me a few listens to get used to frame 11 - 1E, My brain just wouldn't register it for a few minutes. Now it sounds fine. haha.

I like your sound. And a lot of the leads are really kool too! Good work sir!

I know huh? I have a lot of trouble understanding how you can write so much in so little time. I guess OHC helps make you efficient with the program.

I spent ~6 hours after the OHC drawing it out and polishing it up, but thanks!

Yeah, or you can go to http://compo.thasauce.net/rounds/view/OHC211 and see it + the other entrants there.

Tbh I think that I am really slow in Famitracker once the song is over a minute longer, I start getting really slow/reluctant to progress since copying and pasting from earlier frames (whether to get pattern numbers or the stuff in the frames, there's no easy shortcut if you want to get more than one frame at a time - and usually I want four at once). Hopefully the next version of Famitracker has fixes since jsr has said he's working on copy paste functionality for the pattern editor

This is really cool for the most part but you might want to look at frames 11-20 again because there are some bizarre (kinda bad sounding) harmonies being created in there. Like one chord that first appears in frame 11 that has the root, major 3rd, perfect 5th, major 6th and major 7th. Or a really weird one that appears in frame 12 that has the root, major 2nd, perfect 4th, diminished 5th (or augmented 4th), and perfect 5th. And another that has the root, major 2nd, minor 3rd, and major 6th. There are others but I don't want to list them all. Fix those and this would be great.

I'm not very strong at chord/harmony analysis yet. Do you treat two instruments playing diads as a four note chord of their four notes or a two note diad of their two stronger notes for analysis?

I just looked at all the notes playing simultaneously, independent of instrument.

If all else fails, use your ears at this point. I guess Robro caught onto the same thing as me.

Edit: Actually let me have a stab at the part in question. Maybe I can help.

Edit 2: Here's an edit I made, I made it work with the main idea of the song, No major changes, I think it sounds much better like this.

This is great. It sounds fairly reminiscent of Camelot style works (think Golden Sun) in some parts. Was it an inspiration in the creation of this song?

I'm not sure what part of my head this song came from, but if I have to pick an inspiration this is a likely one:
