I was feeling upset about how much musical work I was getting done, so someone told me to "lighten up". This was pretty much the result. I borrowed a few elements from other things to help me get through.

I attempted an odd mixture of rock and jazz, so feel free to let me know how you think it turned out! If all goes well, I can hopefully get a solid recording of this with real instruments.

Those pops from the DPCM channel were killing my ears.
After I silenced the channel the rest of the piece was pretty darn fantastic, one of my favorites so far this year!

Pops/clicks are associated with rogue waveforms.

I would prefer less pops, as it's hurting my... chest somehow... anyway. great songs.

I agree the pops don't add much (nice try though); also the sustained low tri notes are a little jarring. Other than that it's a pretty good piece...very CV-esque.

Thanks to everyone, I suppose. Since most people gave complaints about the DPCM channel pops I just want to point out that the group I played it for liked it and understood what it was meant to be, so it all worked all right...

...although I'm not quite sure why any of you are having any problems with it. I played back the track on various speakers and headphones I had availble from myself and friends, and the only difference I noticed was that it sounded slightly quieter through headphones than through speakers. Nobody else seemed to be annoyed or perturbed by it.

I don't know if I've said it before, but I do not like the DPCM channel AT ALL. So I appreciate jrlepage supplying the samples...but I probably won't get around to using them.

Thanks...although I'm not quite sure how this managed to happen, as I've never played CV, so I don't actually know what the music sounds like...and if you can clarify which tri notes you're referring too, that'd be a great help too. Thanks.

It's a matter of taste. If you really prefer the sound of this kind of percussion above DPCM, go for it.

To me, Zxx is an awful glitchy pop that sounds much like somebody repeatedly plugging your headphones/speakers in and out of your audio output. I definitely wouldn't use it for percussion.

But I'm afraid that might be just me.
