You're still having problems with volume. I'd recommend you just make some small songs that use the volumn column, the volumn settings on the instruments, and the Axx command.
You should try and post as little as possible in your own threads, and you shouldn't post songs one after another.
I made the second pulse quieter, so it wouldn't get in the way of the melody.
If I shouldn't post my material as often as I like for more help, then where should I go for tips and advice aside from the official FamiTracker forums?
You should try and post as little as possible in your own threads,
This isn't strictly true. Double posting is discouraged, as is bumping a topic when you're not adding a new song. But I'm not sure how either of these things is relevant to the current discussion.
and you shouldn't post songs one after another.
The guideline is, when posting multiple songs in a short timespan, it's more considerate to post them in one topic.
Anyway, I thought this track was a definite improvement. I would work on introducing some duty effects (Vxx, or the duty envelope in an instrument). Also be careful when playing the same note on both pulse channels simultaneously, as you may run into sound phasing issues. There are workarounds for this, such as light detuning (Pxx effect) on one of the notes.
Interesting that you should reccomend the Pxx effect; I contemplated doing it at first, but decided to try out the delay effect, which yielded a strang *plank* kind of sound. I thought it was suitable, but like you said, it phased into the next track.
In my next song I'm thinking about, I thinking about using Duty level 3 for a softer song.
I meant what cak wrote, but he words things a lot better and I was kind of rushing to boot.
Also you should know the terms pulse and square are interchangeable.
Edit: Yeah, the latest stable version of Famitracker can only handle 50% duty cycles which is why they are called square channels. In the newest beta they are called pulse channels. This is because these channels have heartbeats. Also, duty cycle refers to the Kenny Chesney song "Shiftwork". You'd have to understand 6502 bit-shifting to really get what Kenny Chesney is talking about. What's essential is that you realize sometimes members of the upper echelon use superlative descriptors albiet they're inherently impractical.

no.
Pulse channels 101:
50% pulse --_--_--_--_--_ = square.
anything other than 50% is solely considered a pulse.
ex. _---, __-, -___.
tl;dr: all squares are pulses, not all pulses are squares.

I admit what I wrote was both out of line and incorrect.
