Oh hey look, the final battle theme of a game probably few around these parts have actually played (Tales of the World: Narikiri Dungeon 3, GBA). It was fun working out all the DPCM samples for this one, I must say. All in all, it turned out pretty darn well, methinks.
Also, this may well be the start of something quite a bit bigger, that may just tickle the fancy of fans of Tales/Sakuraba music. Stay tuned. Or something.
Man, that DPCM channel really got a workout there. I'm pretty surprised at how clearly every sample came out, even when you started layering 2-3 sounds at once.
I actually thought the same thing. I think I finally figured out a good volume level to have the other channels at to make the DPCM actually stand out as it should, too, so that may have helped.
You always post amazing stuff. This is no exception. Loved it.
Coming from you, that is... Wow. That's one hell of a compliment. Thank you :D
how did you made dpcm samples sound so good
I'm not really sure. I just used the normal import function of Famitracker. As for the multisound samples, I just tossed the .wavs into Audacity, mixed them together, exported those as .wavs, and imported them. The quieter ones, I just made copies of the normal ones, imported them, and reduced their volume in the import menu.
Wow! That DPCM's pretty sharp!
And that's one accurate cover, too; well done, I must say.
Thank you, too! And I'm guessing you're one of the few people who's actually played Narikiri Dungeon 3? Either that, or looked it up on Youtube? Either way... Well, I've already finished another, and am working on a third. I'm gonna wait until I've got a few more to post them up, though.
