A little something before I head out on vacation. Thought I'd give a try with the N163, and here are the results: "Dire, Dire Docks" from the watery levels of Super Mario 64!
Note that I didn't add the drums to this tune because I always liked the tune better without the drums. Peaceful and all that. If someone just absolutely must have the drums I will add them...
... but only after vacation. :D
Or, if anyone would like some busy work, feel free to add them. Also the instruments aren't quite what I was going for (I know that the original tune uses a glockenspiel and a more mellow warm string section, but I'm new at instrument creation with N163 so... there ya go).
A wave that is more closer to a sine wave will be good at making the warm dinging sound of a glockenspiel. I also felt that it was a bit fast, but that's just my opinion. Otherwise you did a really great job. Keep up the good work.

On the strength of that excellent instrument suggestion in the first edit, I've tried to experiment with a couple more edits of my own.
In both edits, I've added a small little addition on Namco 7 for frames 0B-0D (for echoing the third glockenspiel note) for a little extra filler.
Then in the first edit (edit2), I have a real attempt to get closer to a glockenspiel in terms of the hammer striking the metal keys to give a nice "pop" at the start of a note. To accomplish that, I halved the waveform size down from 32 to 16. I also increased the frequency of the wave which, in turn, increased the octave of the tone by two, so I had to drop it down two octaves on the bells to make it sound correct (incidentally it's a good thing it was only two, since I would be unable to lower it any further than that). I'm fairly happy with how this one turned out.
The second (musicbox) is just me screwing around with a higher frequency waveform at a length of 32. For this one I made all the instruments use the glockenspiel's waveform and it reminded me very much of the tune being played by a music box. Quadruple an almost-sine waveform (make it fall quicker than it rises slightly), and change all instruments to use that waveform at volume pattern #3 (the new one added from the first edit).
EDIT: KM, since you asked so kindly, I went ahead and added drums to the "edit2" version.
I really like this one! I just took the first one you posted and edited the first instrument - I just clicked the "Sine" button and had a massive nostalgia boner for about 30 minutes. Thank you.
