I made this for a Simon's Quest romhack that, well, died.

BUT THIS LIVED ON!!

What I did was, I made it more mellow, lowered it about an octave, and shortened it.

I also left out a few of the more complicated parts.

This is my first serious sound track, and is the culmination of about three weeks of playing by ear.

I think I did pretty well, although I don't like frame 6.
It just... doesn't sound right, and I'd appreciate some help on that.

I had plans to do a proper version, but... I think that would require a different module and some more complicated combinations of effects, and I'm just not that skilled yet.

Here's where I got the DPCM samples: http://explod.tumblr.com/

"Mellow" just about covers it. I'm feeling pretty relaxed, now. Thanks for that.

I like it, and I don't think frame 6 is as bad as you think. All the same, I made an edit - see if that does anything for you.

this is a very lovely track, great work!

only the drums were a little too present for my personal taste, so i did a minor edit, basically just turning them down a little so that i actually could hear also your DPCM samples

keep it up!

hmmmmmm nope I still prefer the drums in the original.

That's some pretty great stuff you've got there, Lifemouse! :) Loved it all!

Thanks!!

Regarding the originals, which is superior, in your opinion?

I must confess, I like the drum beat in the arcade version more than the arranged version.

Thank you! I like this take on the frame better-- it flows more nicely into the next one

Sorry, that was a typo. I meant to say the original version, a.k.a. your ftm that you posted (as opposed to seph's edit).

Thank you for your input! It sounds really nice.

To tell the truth, I was using the samples to back the Noise channel.

I had some trouble getting the Noise to sound exactly as I wanted. For instance, the double D# in Noise pattern 00 and 05 is supposed to be an open hi-hat...
