My first attempt at making a song in the Capcom/Mega Man style.

I've never actually played any Mega Man games (I know, I know) so what type of level/whose theme would this song go with?

As always, comments and feedback appreciated.

Thanks for the listen!

For some reason mountains come to mind when I hear this. The beginning sounds pretty cool.

Nice, smooth sounds and great melodies and all in 4 channels! The only criticism I have is the drums - they could do with a bit more kick! You start off with a triangle kick, but then lose it for the bass, have you thought about making a joint tri bass/kick sound to keep the beat through the tune? I'd also like to hear this with a punchier, more slowly released snare. Good work though, for sure!

This would probably fit in a Capcom game, but I can't imagine it being in a Mega Man game. The style is pretty different. Not that the song is bad, but it wouldn't really fit that well in a Mega Man game.
I would recomend you to first play a Mega Man game, THEN make the song.

That aside, while I don't really like the melody, it is good... so keep working!

I get sort of a mountainy/ninja vibe from it. Seems like it could be a Ninja Gaiden level maybe. Cool tune =]

I attempted to do that with this song, but I just couldn't get it to sound right.
Here was my test FTM for that.

Made some quickies and just sort of tacked them on there in frames 01 and 02. Fixed arpeggios are the way to go.

Listen to the man. I don't think yours sound bad though golfertrytek. Maybe fiddle around with the ones Necrophagen has made, as they're only quickies, until you're happy with them, and disperse them in the rhythm how you see fit - I definitely think it will add that extra punch to your tune!

I messed around with it quite a bit, and it just doesn't feel right in this song. Mostly because I couldn't get them to fit in without interrupting my bass line, which I like very much.
I did remove the toms at the beginning so that one doesn't expect them as much in the song.

From what I understand, you guys basically want the noise and bass lines in the entire song to sound like the last 4 frames, right?

Errrr... I somehow double posted so disregard this one, or if an admin would like to get rid of this one that would be great.

Okay, now that you've taken them out of the start I like it better without I think if you were going to put them in, you'd have to turn everything up a little, and maybe contrast them with a crashier snare...

I just went and listened to some lao music, and I see what you mean.
Obviously not intentional, though, just coincidence.
