cover sounds a little crap in some points

blame the DS for having like 20 channels

enjoy

i also changed the drums a little and made it slower (makes it funkier-ish you see)

Well, to be honest I prefer yours to the original - but then maybe that's because I dig the NES sounds better. I particularly love your arpylicious instrument!

would say that it is arpylicious? :P

and thanks! it was hard to fit some of the bits in where it plays the same note continuously so i had to interrupt the bassline in square 1 on more than one occassion

which was annoying

thanks anyway, i've had this song in my head for weeks xD

It certainly is arpylicious! I thought you said that you were mediocre at this? I've just been listening to your triangle channel for five minutes, going, "well he's managing to play a bassline and drums in that at the same time..." maybe it's a well-known technique, but for a newbie like me it had me marvelling!

i said i was mediocre at composing :P

and yeah it is a pretty widely known technique lots of NES composers used it, my favourite being tim follin. i tried to base this cover on his style somewhat, because imho he is the #1 NES composer. check out some of the stuff he did on silver surfer and pictionary :P

but thanks anyway!

If I could get one of my tunes to kick like pictionary I'd be happy.

You've got me listening to Tim Follin tunes on youtube now. This dude was responsible for Ghouls and Ghosts! Awesome tune.

I like that percussion! I'm not familiar with the original but I'm fairly certain that the arps are wrong. I'll have to check.

the DS only has 16 channels for sequenced playback, iirc

could be wrong, but streamed audio doesn't really care for this

and since mario kart I know for a fact uses sequenced audio, well, THINGS

also it sounds nice, good job
