Hey, guys.

I was feelin' a idea tonight, and I made a little track. Just something short and sweet. Kind of an beat-em-up street theme, I suppose. Plus, I wanted to work on my Triangle riffs more. :P

It's not much, and maybe it's missing something, but I dig how it turned out. Maybe you guys can opinionate on what it might be lacking.

the triangle seems really weird and dissonant in some parts, 06-07 especially i don't understand what's going on. the triangle from the previous frame just carries on into the next, which almost made me think that you had forgot to put something there.

Haha, I see. I actually did that on purpose. I guess dragging out a note isn't a good idea on triangles. :P

well the idea itself isn't the problem, i just think that since it's such a low tone it doesn't really carry over well. there's plenty of music that has notes that carry over bars.

i think it's cos the verse part is a bit uneven and that tri carryover part comes too early. also, the tri's D note conflicts with the chord you're implying; it's setting up a tense hook with no proper 'release' and no follow up to keep the momentum flowing in a natural way.

i attached what i think makes it sound a little more 'right'.

Not bad, gyms. Certainly a lot better than what I originally put up.

I think I'll mess around with that tonight and see what else I can do with this. Thanks for the cleanup.

i didn't really change much at all, just rearranged a few things. all the good ideas are already in there, just hoping to demonstrate that subtleties can go quite a ways.

This is a real neat little composition. Fun to listen to. Sounds like a Tecmo Sports game.

not a big fan of the mixture between 3-3-3-3-4 beats and 4-4-4-4 beats where the channels as a whole lose emphasis and consistency but frames 08 & 09 are pretty neat

for example in frame 04 the beginning suonds too much like something coming out from a 3/4 song but then the lower half abruptly changes the rhythm
